This is enough for them to get enough banana to feel the benefits but it isn’t too many! Too much banana can hurt your hamster’s health!

How much banana should a Roborovski hamster eat?

Give your Robo hamster around a 1/4 teaspoon of banana twice a week. They can’t have as much as Syrian hamsters due to their size but they can still have a little bit!

How much banana should a Dwarf hamster eat?

Dwarf hamsters, including Chinese, Campbell and Russian hamsters, are much smaller than the average hamster. This means that they can’t eat as much banana as a Syrian or a Robo hamster. Therefore you should give your dwarf hamster around 1/4 teaspoon once every 2 weeks.

  • Diabetes – The sugar in bananas can cause diabetes if you are not careful. Keep the amount of bananas that they can eat to a minimum because of this.
  • Obesity – Sugar can cause obesity in your hamster. Make sure to keep the amount of sugar they eat to a minimum.
  • Choking – Large pieces of banana could be a choking hazard for your hamster.
  • Nutritional Issues – If you feed your hamster too much banana, they are unlikely to eat any other food that is in the cage. This can lead to nutritional imbalances as they won’t get the full amount of nutrients that they need!

Can Hamsters Eat Banana Peel?

Are hamsters allowed to eat banana peels? Banana peels are technically fine to give to hamsters, they contain the same nutrients as bananas. However supermarket bananas will have pesticides on the skin which means that you should not feed your hamster those. Organic banana peel can, however, be introduced into your hamster’s diet.

Can Hamsters Drink Banana Juice?

We don’t recommend that you give your hamsters banana juice. It doesn’t contain as many of the vital nutrients that your ham needs whilst containing a lot of sugar. Stick to the solid versions of fruits, fruit juice isn’t recommended!
