Robos can’t have as much corn due to their size. We don’t recommend going as far as giving your Robo hamster a full corn on the cob to eat. It can fill them up too much! Give them a handful of corn kenals every week.

Winter White dwarf hamsters, Chinese hamsters and Campbell Dwarf hamsters can only have a few pieces of this lovely veg. This is mainly due to their size, it can fill them up a lot if you give them a lot. This means that there’s not enough room for proper hamster food. Give your dwarf hamster a kernel of corn a day. Consider giving them tiny kernels to prevent a choking hazard

  • Large pieces of corn can be a choking risk, especially for dwarf hamsters

Can hamsters eat corn on the cob?

Yep! In fact, many pet stores sell corn on the cob that you can put in your hamster’s cage. We recommend that only Syrians are given this though. Other hamsters shouldn’t have that much! It can fill them up and not leave room for anything else!

Can hamsters eat sweetcorn?

We don’t recommend that you give your hamster sweetcorn! It is extremely hard to digest and your hamster may not be able to digest it at all. This won’t lead to any trouble but it is a waste of a snack and it gives your hamster no benefits! Stick to normal corn!
